Congress in Hanover 1982, when El Gindi became interested in my projects on ICU monitoring care and early neurosurg. rehab.. So he invited me as guest speaker at the opening of his PanArab. Congr. of Neurourg in Cairo, 2000, where El Gindi introduced me to two other speakers, both prominent doctors, Anwar Etribi , MD PhD, Chairman Dept. Neurology and Psychiatry, AIN SHAMS Univ. and General Mohamed Reda Awad, MD,Prof. for Rheumat. & physical Rehab Al AZHAR Univ., clin.director of Armed Force and Rheumatic Rehab EL AGOUZA Military Hospital Centre, Cairo.
Since that time I came to Cairo as AGOUZA visiting Prof.for lecturing and to examine SCI and outpatients in the Rehab. Dept. every year. Upon request of General Awad and in consultation with Prof. El Gindi, I provided my advice, based on my personal experience, how Awad should plan and structure best his new special SCI AGOUZA SCI emergency clinic, including state of art equipment for 2 ORs, ICU, Unit for restorative early rehab. and outpatients, and modern CCT diagnostics; new Heli airport in front!. At the time of revolution I met with General Abdal Fattah as-Sisi, today Egypt’s President, to guide him around in the newly opened SCI clinic. There after the situation has changed, Never again I met with El Gindi, guest of honour, at Awads annual PanArab Back Pain and PanArabNR conferences. El Gindi became an iconic figure. Besides his official representations we enjoyed private meetings, including Awad and Etribi. Prof. El Gindi has introduced our cooperation in Neurosciences with Cairo Universities and Reda Awad my friend(SCI rehab, stem-cell research projects; and Distinguished Prof. at Al AZHAR).
